Frank Skinner teamed up with David Baddiel to create and star in BBC2’s Fantasy Football League, “The Newman and Baddiel fans never forgave me... they saw me as a Linda McCartney figure, the one who broke up the band.”
The BBC Video Fantasy Football League was the fastest selling comedy release in the one month run to Christmas, selling over 100,000 units. It received a VHE Award Of Excellence as Top Comedy Programme.
In July David and Frank were invited by BBC Television to join their commentary team for World Cup Grandstand.
In October, Frank’s UK national stand-up tour completely sold out in advance of a 60 date run. Over two months he performed live to over 100,000 people.
